Restrictions on Traveling Out of State on Parole
I understand that while on probation/parole, you are subject to whatever your probation officer wishes ie. allowing you to travel, etc.
I reside in Pennsylvania and am on parole (45 days work release) for a 2nd DUI. I follow all the rules as far as classes, fines, meetings, etc. While on house arrest, my probation officer granted me special person based on good behavior.
I am requesting permission to travel to Texas to marry (JP) my fiance in 3 weeks. I know that it is a request and not gauranteed, but what are the chances of being approved or denied? Are they likely to deny my request? Or more likely to approve because of my cooperative behavior with my regulations?
Thank you.
Re: Restrictions on Traveling Out of State on Parole
If your probation officer thinks of you as a "special person" due to your good behavior, your chances of getting permission are improved. I'm not in a good position to assess your odds and, frankly, your best approach to finding out is to simply ask your probation officer.
