I am a softball coach, and I am the registered owner of my team name. Several ex players are representing theirselves as players of my team. They are trying to take over my team, and to keep the team name. What procedures do I have to take to prevent them continued use of my team name in promoting their agenda.

In what fashion are you the "registered owner" of the team name? With whom have you registered?
Do you hold a Trademark?
I am not sure on what type of ownership. I registered the trade name for a softball team. In Hawaii. For sporting events here.

If you mean that you registered the name under state law as a trademark, then you would have recourse through a civil action in state court.
Many people are not aware that trademarks and tradenames can be registered under state law. Even companies that have federal trademarks sometime register them under state law as it provides added protection and gives an additional forum to enforce their rights. Also many times it is cheaper to go to state court than federal court.
I would hire an attorney to send them cease and desist letters. That might do the trick. If not, then a civil action would be required.
