How to Appeal a Civil Rights Restoration Decision
A friend has received his firearms rights back from a Superior Court Judge in Spokane, Washington . He had been convicted of one count of class 'B' felony molestation. Some people are not happy about it. But the prosecuting attorney for the county had signed the restoration of rights papers. Can the state now appeal his receiving his firearms rights back? If they can, how long do they have to do it. He has never committed any other crimes, and his original conviction was 15 years ago.

Why would the prosecutor appeal something you say that he agreed should be granted?

A person made such a stink about it after the fact that he wanted to know if it could be taken away from him. This person was not involved in any way, They just didn't believe (I guess) that sex offenders should get second chances.

It's really difficult to prevail in an appeal where you agreed to the outcome, as it's likely to be viewed by an appellate court as "invited error." Whether or not there was a mistake that could justify relief on appeal, I can't say. I have no access to or information about lower court records and proceedings.
