Also if a friend was going to let me stay at his/her house would that be considered living away from my parents.. i have riends that said i could live with them. one is a guy but he is gay.. ( and i love him to death. ) and one is a girl. she told me that if i ever needed a place to stay i can with her. Then i also have one of my old teachers.. She is really nice and told me if i needed anything all i have to do is ask. Please someone help me? where do i get the forms and does anyone think i have a case.. Help..

Re: Emancipation Help
You do not give your age, which affects your ability to emancipate, but the following is true regardless of your age:
Emancipation is not granted on the basis of how bad you have it at home, EVER. Emancipation is granted on the basis of your proven record of financial self-support.
Living with a friend or teacher is not considered being self-sufficient for emancipation purposes.
If you are being physically abused, the proper recourse is to call CPS. Emancipation is NOT going to be granted on abuse alone.
Emancipation is not and never was intended to be a means for kids to leave home. Emancipation was and is intended to provide legal protections to those kids who, through no fault of their own, found themselves living alone.

Re: Emancipation Help
i am 16 sorry .. was going to put my age forgot about it though... i also have another question.. if you decide to get emancipated does your parents have to agree. ( do you have to have there permission to ). i know living with someone is not considered self-suffient.. i mean if like i payed them rent your something would that be ok? and i wouldnt want to live with them for long.. just until i have a little money to move out on my own.. like an apartment or something.

Re: Emancipation Help
Sweetheart, posting every couple hours isn't going to help you. It's not like you can just mosey over to the courthouse right now, get a few papers signed, and be free in 15 minutes.
Yes, your parents have to agree, or the judge needs to rule that it's in your best interests to be emancipated over and above their objections.
If you aren't already 100% self supporting, you're not going to be emancipated. Period.
If you're being abused, call CPS.
