Shoplifting at 18 in Walmart in Florida
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida

So my boyfriend did something EXTREMELY stupid last night... Got caught shoplifting a pair of sunglasses at Wal-Mart... Landed himself in jail etc. etc..

So he has trial, my question is.. I have heard in some states that for small amounts/first offense that they will NOT put it on your record if you meet certain requirements?

I'm not completely sure, could anyone help me or lead me to where I can find this out? Is there a way it can NOT be put on your record...?

Thank you SO SO SO! Much

He can talk to a local lawyer about the possibility of diversion, deferral, or a similar disposition that's short of a conviction.
