Pay the fine and take traffic school.
Re: I Went Threw a Red Light
:wallbang: any other suggestions because honestly I don't think its right that the light never changed I couldn't just wait there until another car came on the road to make it to change? and my ticket was a VC 21453(A)- Red Light
Re: I Went Threw a Red Light
Unless you can somehow prove that the light was malfunctioning then there really is no other suggestion. You can contact the city planning/engineering dept or whichever entity is responsible for maintaining that traffic light to see if anyone else has contacted them about the problem. If you can get them to admit a malfunction, then get some sort of documentation to take with you to court and you might get a sympathetic judge. Otherwise, saying "I sat at the light for a while and it didn't change" is not gonna help you one bit.

Re: I Went Through a Red Light
First of all, your original post is the most amazing run on sentence I have seen in some time.
So, what makes you think that another car would have caused the light to change? Have you noticed some sort of malfunction? How long were you sitting at the red light?
Re: I Went Through a Red Light
Next time, either make a right turn (on red), call 311 on the spot (non-emergency number to report the issue), or back up about 10 feet and then reapproach the stop line.
Re: I Went Through a Red Light
see i didn't think backing up would have been any better then going threw it;however, I talked to the city and they checked on it and it was malfunctioning so I have the written down by the guy at the city and I guess ill let you guys know what happens after court thanks for the advice

Another vehicle at the light would have run over the sensor causing it to change they are all big pressure plates to change the signal? and at night uses head lights aswell correct?
Re: I Went Through a Red Light
I may be able to lend a thought. i have a close friend who works for city municipals in il.
Headlight sensors for stop lights were phased out about 15 years ago, however, the new sensors which is an embedded carbon and silicone based strip device, very similar in size to a light rope, do somtimes go bad if under a lot of heat stress or extreme moisture conditions. essentially, the silicone or rubberized carbon detectors in use now work a lot like a microphone and pick up the sound of the vehicle on the road coming to a stop.
pressure plates too have been phased out for years.
Re: I Went Through a Red Light
I won got a written letter from the city saying the gap was set incorrectly on the light. the officer said he wen't back and checked the light several times and everything was cycling properly .. bs aren't cops suppose to be the good guys well i guess thats what are taxes got to out here we pay them to go to court
