Arrested As a Minor for Shoplifting 1yr Ago, Need
My question involves a background check in the State of Illinois.
I was arrested for shoplifting when I was 16 (a misdemeanor). I wasn't convicted, there were no charges against me, and I never had to go to court. However, the police did take my fingerprints and my picture.
I've now applied for a job at an electronics store, successfully passed all three interviews and was offered the job. However, me getting the job is contingent upon passing the background check, which will happen over the next two or three days. I need to know if the arrest will show up in the background check.

No, you don't need to know if it will show up. You want to know if it will show up.
And the answer is, we have no idea. It depends on how thorough a check is run. All background checks are not created equal.
