    Filing Charges in Illinois
    My question involves criminal law for the state of: Illinois I HAve A 15 Year Old Daughter WHo Got involved with A almost 19 Yr Old Boy And Now She thinks Shes Preggers i Called The States Attorney In the county Taht She Lives And They Tell Me To call local Police Or DCFS To File Charges Against The Boy Since When Does The States Att Do this I Was under the impression that they would take the case no matter what if you called and wanted to file charges my daughter has been a habitual runaway for years doing drugs and drinking also i need help she says she doesnt want to come home cause i have to many rules what can i do

    The state's attorney is a prosecutor's office, not an investigative agency. If you wish to initiate an investigation of a possible crime, you normally do so through the police.
