Asked For My Resignation
My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: California
I have been "asked" by my employers to put in my resignation. They have said that work is "slow" and gave me a month to find another job. It has been 2.5 weeks. They asked me to resign with an offer of severance. Should I get this offer in writing? At this point it is only a verbal offer.

Re: Resignation
in writing is always good.
understand though that regardless of such an agreement, quitting is generally justification for disqualification for unemployment comp.

Re: Resignation
Not in this situation. The OP is being asked to resign and reagrdless of whether they do or not they will still be let go and any unemployment division I have worked with would see that as qualifing for benefits.
