Hospital Doesn't Want Me Any More
My question involves a background check in the State of: Florida.
The hospital where i work started doing background checks on everyone after some incident they had a few months ago. On my background check there is a comment from my previous employer saying that i stole and falsified documentation. Even though i work for an outside company which understood the situation ,,, the hospital doesn't want me there anymore after 1 year of working there. Can i get my job back?
There was no police report ... can they do that to me?
I'm sorry if i missed some details but i just got home from getting the news!
Re: Hospital Doesn't Want Me Anymore
Based on the information you have posted, no, there is no way you can force them to give you your job back.
Re: Hospital Doesn't Want Me Any More
Thanks for the reply ... i just thought that since the situation resulted in no police report they would see that the comment is nothing more than a personal conclusion, not a legally documented report. How can they give credibility to statements that haven't been proved? ... i could be wrong.
Re: Hospital Doesn't Want Me Any More
There does not have to be a police report. They are not a court of law and do not have to have proof.
In 49 out of 50 states, including FL, employment is at will and you can be fired for any reason not specifically prohibited by law. Since there is no law that says you cannot be fired for this reason, you can be.
