Got Passport Stamped While Pending a Master Hearing - Can I Travel
I got a CR through marriage. I tried to remove the condition by filing the proper form.
But I never got a receipt for it. when i inquired i was told they were backed up and to wait.
After a year of waiting I had to travel to my home country (france) for an emergency for 2 weeks (i know now it was a mistake)
Upon return at the airport I was taken to the office, apparently during my absence i had received an NTA saying that my status was terminated and I would have to appear in court. The IO let me in as a tourist, i didn't have a choice, they threated me with imidiate removal and 5 year ban. The IO made it seems as if i had missed the court date
When i got home i saw the NTA (it was date to be set, so i hadn't miss a thing) and a week later i got my Master hearing date to appear.
a lawyer advised me to reapply for the removal of condition with a letter explaining my situation
I thought I was cooked anyway
But the strangest thing happened, my 751 receipt came in, i went to USCIS with it + gave my passport which clearly showed my visa waiver, but after 2 hours the clerk gave me a 551 stamp on it. and told me i could travel.
what does it mean now?
do i still need to appear in court, I was so shocked i didnt want to tell the IO about the NTA, i assumed they had checked on it, or it would have come up on my file.
did the hearing got canceled, am i free?

You've been ordered to appear in court, so of course you still have to appear in court. You can contact the court any time you want to verify the status of the hearing.
I have no way of knowing how things "crossed in the mail", so to speak, and am not going to guess - that can't help you and, if I'm wrong, could harm you. You're being advised by a lawyer, and you have an unusual set of facts, so I suggest you consult your lawyer about this.
