Daughter Arrested for Assault with Bodily Injury

I am in Texas. My 22-year-old daughter has been living at home with my husband and I since the birth of her 3-year-old son. She was screaming obscenities at my grandson, and I intervened and told her that I would not allow her to treat him that way in my home. She proceeded to punch me in the nose causing a bloody nose and a black eye. An altercation ensued and my husband called the police. She was taken to jail for assault with bodily injury. A police officer took my statement and took pictures of my injuries which included a severely black eye and three bite marks, one of which was on my breast. There is no one able or willing (I hope) to bail her out of jail. I wonder what her bail would be set at, and I want to know what will probably happen to her.

Her bail will be whatever it gets set at. On the internet, not knowing all the details or the judges’ habits there is no way we could tell. What happens from here will be up to you, her, the court, the prosecutor, and her defense attorney, and jury if it goes that far.

Since this crime occurred in front of her child, there is also the possibility that child protective services could get involved to evaluate if the child should remain in the home or under her care.
