Overstay, Criminal Record, and Adjustment of Status Based on Marriage
    MD.

Hi, I came to US twice. During my first visit (J-1 visa) I got a criminal record for misdemeanor. Next summer I came to USA on J-1 visa again, and 4 months later exchanged it for Tourist Visa in order to keep my legal status in the country. Tourist visa expired in March,2008.
I'm getting married soon. My fiancee is an american citizen. Can anyone please help with what exactly papers and forms I will need to fill out? And, more important, will my criminal record cause any problems?

    Thanks.

If you mean in general, read any of the dozens of threads in this forum describing things in general.

If you mean, given your specific circumstances? You haven't told us enough to even know if you can adjust your status (e.g., are you subject to the two year foreign residence requirement).
