Right of Way
My question involves real estate located in the State of:I live in the u.k
I rent several acres of grazing land, with accsess via another property, which has a locked gate... i have until recently had to request keys, and make sure they were returned . i have now my own keys with the consent of the man in charge ,and i have always made sure i lock the gate after me when on the land or leaving, today i was not able to go myself ,so my daughter and her friends went, to poo pick (i have 5 horses on the land) i recieved a phone call to say that gypseys had broken the locks off and was on the land. I called my daughter who assured me it was her on the land,i spoke to a man in charge of the land next door, and he told me i had to ring them every time i used the gates, i explained this should not have to be done as the owner of the field had legal rights to the acsess ,he said he did but i didnt, :wallbang:
I felt quite upset as did my daughter ,

Re: Right of Way
I would suggest asking a solicitor or posting in a U.K. forum. Despite our common law heritage, the U.S. has significantly different (and more varied) laws than the U.K.
