Do Ex-Cons Have to Pay Restitution for Prision Costs
I just saw a thread where part seemed to imply that after getting out of jail, someone has to pay back the city for the cost of the jail.

    Is that true?

In some places yes they charge you per day to stay. In other places they do not charge you. It all depends on the policy of where ever you are locked up at. Usually you pay through out your time you are locked up. This cost is usually incorparated into your fines and arrestitution payments. Average is about 25 dollars per day.

No it is not against the Constitution or your Civil Rights to charge you to be locked up.
