Sued by a Credit Card Company
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Pennsylvania. I just recently received court papers stating that Discover card filed a lawsuit against me for $1666.95. I have already contacted Legal Aid for an attorney because i cannot afford one. Just waiting to hear back from the attorney, if they can help me out or not. But the thing is I made an agreement with Discover at the end of March that i will make payments of $140 each month beginning April 15th. But before April 15th, they had a law firm contacting me and i never got a chance to make my payment. I have 3 or 4 more credit cards that I'm tryin to pay off but its hard to. I'm a single mother of one child currently expecting my second baby in august. A full time college student and have no income at all expect for my daughter's child support but that goes to her and its currently suspended right now. I really need some more advice on what to do. I really would like to make another agreement with Discover card and they drop the lawsuit. I cant afford a lawsuit right now. Besides the fact i dont own anything. I live with my mom and my two siblings. And I'm still in college. And besides I have other things goin on that i cannot mention.

How much do you owe, in total, to all of your creditors? It may be time to consult a bankruptcy lawyer.
