Do I Have to Take the House
My question involves divorce in the State of: missouri
I was in a controling relationship, my husband wouldn't let me get my lisence, my job, he wouldn't let me talk to friends or family. I have recently left him, and with in 2 weeks, he filed for the divorce. He asked for full custody, and pretty much everything I'm not willing to give him. I can't get a lawyer, because I have no money or way to get a job, at this point. I do not want anything except a few personal things, like a quilt my aunt made, and a dish set that was given to me by another aunt.
we had a house, but my husband refused to put any of it in my name. I don't want the house, or anything, except my quilt and dish set, I want him to keep all the furniture and he already got rid of my clothes and such. I've had a lot of help and support from family and have gathered all the stuff I need for me and my daughter. I am wondering, since I am filing my divorce papers myself, until I can get a lawyer or some what, do I still have to put the house on them saying I want him to keep it and pay the payment? my name is no where on it. but it was bought after we got married.
Re: Do I Have to Take the House
See if a local women's shelter can give you a referral to a low cost lawyer, or if you qualify for legal aid.
What "divorce paper" are you asking about? Typically you don't have to get into that level of specificity in a complaint.
