Caught Shoplifting at Walmart

About 2 weeks ago I got caught stealing at Walmart. They took me to their office and filled out paperwork. The manager told me I would get a fine in the mail in a couple of weeks. She called the cops while filling out the paperwork. They were already finished with filling everything out, they took my picture put everything in a file and then we waited for the police. She kept looking at her watch and she said okay if the police aren't here in ten minutes I'll let you go. ten minutes later...okay you can go.So i left... This is my first offense ever and my last. Anyway, i've been paranoid for the last two weeks (as I should be, I know, pretty much the worst part of the punishment I think). I did some research and I found that Bennett and Deloney act as Walmart's collection agency. They called me this morning about the fine ($225) which I gladly paid for over the phone because I honestly just want it to be over. However I've heard some pretty nasty things about the bennett and deloney agency and i'm slightly nervous that they'll call me up again in a couple years saying I haven't paid... Also I was a little confused as to what happens since the manager had called the cops and she told they'd be giving me a citation and she explained everything to me. But she let me go...I asked her if she was sure and that I could wait...is it likely that i'll get a citation in the mail. also what exactly does a citation entail? How do I know if I have to go to court? I'm so ashamed and I don't want to involve my parents because I am 18 already. Right! Suck it up pay the consequences! But could someone please help me just a bit?

As for your question about Bennett and Deloney: When you paid over the phone, you were given a confirmation number. The payment will also show on your credit card statement. Keep an extra set of copies in these in a separate folder. You then have proof that you paid.
