H1B, Out of Status

Hi,

I was working with a firm, who sponsored my H1B. My employment has been terminated recently, and I have a notice period till July 24th. I have a salary continuation period till Aug 28th. I am not sure when would I be considered out of status? is it after the notice period? I have heard that you get 30-60 days even after notice period ends, to find new job/H1B sponsor. Any suggestions highly appreciated...

By "notice period until July 24th," do you mean that your last day of work is July 24?

By convention, you have an unofficial ten day grace period to pack up and leave, following the end of your employment. There's no official grace period for an H1B visa.

No. my last day at work was on June 24th, notice period means the firm can ask my help (work related) till July 24th.
