Re: Battery and Consequences
You were sexually assaulted, fought back and were the one fired?
What happened to the other person?
Re: Battery and Consequences
What he did to you is sexual harassment. I would have a meeting with the HR department, and point that out. You may even want to bring an attorney.
Re: Battery and Consequences
For clarification. Yes he grabbed my nipple, it wasn't the first time, but the second. When it happaned the second time I shouted the "f word" then grabbed a glass which wasn't too far away since I work in a restaurant, then hit him on the shoulder though I was aiming for the head. I instinctively waited for him to retaliate before continuing. But he didn't get angry and apologized so I stopped.
I'm not sure what happened to the other guy. I assume they told him to go home. The manager got me and told me to go home and come back tomorrow. I would naturally assume that I am fired. Violence in the work place goes against any companies policy. The conversation with the manager went like this:
Manager:
"I don't know what happened, I don't want to know what happened, but you must understand we can't have fighting in the work place. Jesus Christ, you hit him with a duke?! (Tall glass mugs we use for serving beer) We could have called the cops."
Me:
"He started it when he grabbed chest. It really pissed me off."
Manager:
"You could have told a floor manager."
Me:
"I took the only option I saw available at the time."
Manager:
"Just go home for now."
I plan to quit even if he were to offer me my job back under any and all circumstances. I am mentally and physically undamaged from the whole ordeal so actually sue-ing is a very unattractive option. Especially since the police was not notified.
