Terminating H1-B and Married to a U.S. Citizen
My wife is from Brazil and is currently in the US on an H1-b visa on an employment-based green card application. We are planning on starting a family, at which point she will want to quit working. How do we move to a family-based green card? Can we apply before she quits working and is still on the H1-b visa?

Does she have to leave the country to get a new visa? Can she leave the country during the process?

Below is a link to the USCIS web site that outlines the process to becoming an legal permanant resident. (Green card). On that page, there is another link on immigration thought a family member. It will outline how to adjust her status based on your marriage.
