Careless in Michigan
My question involves a careless driving ticket from the State of: Michigan.
I was cited for careless driving. The officer observed me entering my own driveway in a spirited manner.
I have a rather good driving record. My last citation was a speeding ticket 6 years ago.
I would like to ask the DA to either reduce the charge to one w/o points OR dismiss it if I go a certain amount of time w/o any violations of any kind.
What is the best way to proceed here ?
And is this a likely scenario ?

Re: Careless in Michigan
Ask really nicely.
There's no point in asking for a deferral in Michigan. The Secretary of State will still give you the points. You need a reduction to a zero points ticket (e.g., obstructing traffic) or a dismissal on payment of costs.
