Possession of Paraphernalia
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Minnesota
The incident took place in Chisago county.
I received a citation for statute 152.092.
My friend was pulled over for a routine traffic stop, and he gave them all the probably cause they needed to search his van.
I was in the back and therefore near the "stuff" area of the van, where they found some rolling papers, so I was given a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
In Minnesota, this is a petty misdemeanor. I know this means there will be no jail time and no fine of more than $300. Is there anything else I should know about petty misdemeanors?
Also, I was trying to find court records on the internet for Chisago county, but was unable. Could someone point me in the right direction?
Is any sort of diversion common for this offense?
My arraignment is coming soon, and not having so many questions would be very comforting. I'd like to thank any of you in advance for your help.
Re: Possession of Paraphernalia
You should be able to access court records at the courthouse.
A local attorney can advise you as to what local prosecutors and judges are doing to resolve this particular charge, based upon your age and the full set of facts.
Re: Possession of Paraphernalia
thats something ive seen on here alot, why do they charge people with possession of paraphenalia for rolling papers alone, which are legal.
