What to Do when No Response to Appeal
I e-mailed the San Diego CA Parking Administration on April 30th and asked how long it would take to process my appeal. They wrote back on May 1st and said "The decision will take around 3-4 weeks to decide. You will be notified by mail about the decision."
So today is 10 weeks from my mailing in my appeal and 8 weeks from them saying it takes 3-4 weeks:wallbang:
If I write again to check the status will it annoy them enough to deny my appeal? I've never been ticketed before and just want the matter settled. In case they did not ever receive the appeal that I mailed in - will they send a reminder notice or something to let me know that I need to take further action:confused:
The thread where I explain the ticket is here http://www.expertlaw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74924

Probably not! In fact, if you still have their response, I would reply to that instead of sending a new message.

Or better yet, call them!
Re: What to Do when No Response to Appeal
Called on 7/9 and gave up after being on hold >10 minutes. Sent an e-mail and received an auto-reply... this one stating to allow 45 days for response for appeals. Now it has been >11 weeks (80+days).
Aren't people who get parking ticket entitled to having a speedy trial?:wallbang:

But, it's not a trial. It's a bureaucratic process from heck.

oh! I guess my picture of some judge reading each appeal, entering a verdict and then hitting a gavel was a little over dramatized
Re: What to Do when No Response to Appeal
I actually DID get thru on the phone a few weeks ago and gave the citation number to the person who answered. She said they received my appeal and it was being processed and to allow 90 days. I told her "It has been 96 days" and she said that I then I should "hear something soon"
...I just received the following e-mail
"Hello,
We have received your appeal but are unable to identify the citation you are attempting to appeal. Please resubmit your Administrative Review request and include a copy of the parking citation.
If the citizen resubmits the appeal including a copy of the citation, it will be processed as a new appeal and be redistributed."
What the heck? I enclosed a photocopy of the ticket with my appeal but I guess it got separated. Does this mean they have no record of my getting a ticket? The e-mail has the citation number in the reference line so they HAVE that info. Can't they just look up a copy themselves? Is the process really this complex?
