    Underage Drinking Ticket in Wisconsin
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Wisconsin

I got my first underage ticket about a month ago. I was in the back seat, everyone else had been drinking, everyone was under 21, the driver was 17.

Blew a .13, got a ticket in the mail for $250, the court date is july 6th, 1 week until my 21st birthday. My only other run-ins with the law have been a speeding ticket and an unecessary loudness violation.

We all cooperated with the police and a friends mom took us home.

I hope i can get the fine reduced, as i dont have $250. Is it possible, if the judge is in a good mood, that he/she drops everything, seeing that ill be 21 in a week and i haven't had any problems in the past?

Also, should i mention to the judge that i purchased the alcohol at a gas station and wasnt carded? Is it possible the judge drops my fine if i "nark" on the gas station selling alcohol to minors? They can make far more than $250 by fining the gas station. Would it be stupid to barter, if you will, with the judge?

The best way to find out what's likely to happen in a local court is to ask a local criminal defense lawyer. There are some states and counties where they'll give you a break; there are others where they'll throw the book at you.
