Does a Suspension From a Possession Charge get Transferred from State to State
My question involves criminal law for the state of: South Carolina and Ohio.

So I'm from Ohio and I live in Ohio. I moved down to South Carolina, (never got a South Carolina I.D.), for a few months and on the night before I left to move back home, I was pulled over and the police officer smelled pot and found it, as well as my pipe. I was cited for "simple marijuana possession," that's exactly what it said on the ticket. I didn't go to court, I just paid the $570 fine and sent it to the court house in South Carolina by money order a couple weeks after I had moved back.

So weeks go by and I get a notice by mail saying that I will have a suspended license in South Carolina for 6 months with privileges for "simple marijuana possession." Cool that's fine and dandy, I don't live in South Carolina anymore.

So a couple weeks ago I get another notice by mail, saying that my license is going to be suspended for 6 months in Ohio with privileges, but on the letter it says its being suspended for being "under the influence of alcohol." I don't know if something can be done about it. So I'm confused and my questions are:

Is this right? Was this done on purpose?
Can I fight this in court? Or should I?
    Should this have even transferred?

    Any input is greatly appreciated.

It sounds like there was a coding error when your state suspended your license based upon the abstract of the South Carolina suspension. If you want the entry corrected, as it was not a DUI, you should contact the DMV.
