    Misdemeanors and International Travel
I was convicted of a misdemeanor for possession in 2007. I am planning a trip to Colombia and wanted to if I would have a problem leaving and entering either countries. I am a US born citizen.

    Ask the Colombian immigration authorities.

    A Misdemeanor Possession Repricussions
I have an A misdemeanor for possession. The conviciton was in 2007. I paid my fine, took care of all the court orders and have moved forward. I am planning a trip to Colombia and wondering is this conviction will interfere with entering Colombia OR USA? I am a US born citizen.

    Thanks

U.S. citizens are allowed to come home, even if they have criminal records. As for any other country, inquire with their immigration authorities as to whether you can enter.

Thank you. I did speak with the Colombian Embassy and they said that it would not interfere with their country and said maybe the US may bust my chops. I am just nervous of re-entering USA and the CBTs giving me a hard time...like additional questions.
