16 Year Old Girl with 40 Year Old Man
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

Last August a 16 year old girl and a 40 year old man had sexual relations. Since then they have continued to have sex. She is now 17 and he is now 41. If the case were to be taken to court would the man be seen as guilty or not? I'm pretty sure that the way the system in Michigan works is that because she was 16 when it happened, and that there is proof that this occured, that the man could be tried. Am I correct?

By the way. When I say sexual relations I mean that they had full on sex.

Unless he were a teacher or other authority figure, the age of consent in Michigan is 16.

The man DOES work in a school system. He goes around from school to school and teaches the teachers how to use certain technology. Not to mention when the sexual interaction took place it was actually while one of his educational projects was taking place. AKA he: director her: actress
