Should I Call CSB

My question involves child abuse or neglect in the State of: Ohio. My boyfriend and I have been together for a while now and his mother really doesn't like me. She says I'm a bad influence on her son who by the way is 16 and i am an honor roll student and have never been in trouble with the law. She has this "problem" with me and she treats him like dirt, but she treats his other siblings a lot better then him but that's not saying much.

She used to go days on end to her boyfriend's house leaving them alone and has put a chain and lock on their cupboard. she constantly verbally abuses them, especially my boyfriend.

to make a long story short, a few months ago she told my boyfriend he needs to break up with me and he said no. and it turned into this big arguement and she forbidded him to ever spend time with me again. he ended up very furious and she sent him to a mental institution for 3 weeks and would not let him out until he cooperated and gave her what she wanted. she ended up forcing him to take a bunch of different mental medications and it is all going down hill. she put him on probation with a strict prohibition stated on the papers that he is to have no contact with me. since then i have not been able to see him and she constantly threatens him with the cops if he doesn't do every little thing she says. she has also called the cops on him numberous times accusing him of almost hurting the family and that she "fears him". Altough i have been there during their fights before and he is just not a physical person

His probation officer constantly threatens him of jail time if he contacts me again and if he doesn't do exactly everything his mother says. he threatens him of 90 days or more just off of his mother's word. can he do that?

she constantly is mentally and emotionally abusing him.
as i said before she has withheld food from him, human interaction [keeping him in his room all day], and she herself is a frequent drinker, believed to abuse perscription pills when she is depressed and is very mentally ill herself.

should i call the CSB on her? and what can they do? what are my boyfriends rights?

1. a mental institution is not going to keep anyone for three weeks just because their mother says so
2. a psychiatrist is a medical doctor - again - they are not going to write prescriptions just because his mother says so
3. if you don't stop harassing this family I expect you will find yourself served with a restraining order very soon!
4. if you sincerely care about this boy, you will respect his mother's wishes and stop creating drama in his life.

1. he would not talk because his mother would tell the whole family everything and when he finally talked to the psychiatrists they let him out on an out patient program for 2 weeks [i should have been more specific] 1 week inpatient, 2 weeks outpatient.
2. yes, it is a medical doctor. but he just sits there and says nothing and his mother tells them about him. they never really talked to him. plus, this doctor is a quack. I've been to him before and he prescribed me depression medication that i found out i never needed.
3. what do you consider harassing the family? i haven't even so much as called their home after she told me not to.
4. you sound exactly like her! even my parents, my therapist, and the principle of my own school think she is not right in the head. I care about him. I very much do. But I'm not gunna sit there and watch this happen.

Your therapist (assuming he/she is licensed) and your school principal are mandatory reporters. This means they are required by law to report any suspected child abuse. If they honestly think the mother is a threat to her son then you should ask them why they are not taking any action.

i haven't gone into deep detail about it to them. my therapist said that it seems like she really needs help and he is concerned that she thinks she doesn't need help and it was pretty much left at that. and my principal didn't really care about what i was saying. I don't think he is a very good principal because this man said to my mother that she needs help also but he then again didn't take it any further. I'm not really sure why they haven't reported it. Thats why i came on here and asked if i should

i know he has to listen to her regardless and I'm not mad about that. I'm just concerned about his well being and i don't want him hurt or in danger.

No.

Child protective services would take a report They would conduct a home visit and investigate if they had reason to believe the child was in danger. Nothing in your post indicates this child is being abused.

He has the right to food, clothing, shelter, medical treatment and an education. The food does not have to be gourmet, the clothing does not have to be in style, the shelter does not have to qualify for an episode of Cribs, the medical treatment does not have to meet your approval and the education need only be commensurate with his age and abilities.

Because you can't. If you give a good godsdamn about this boy, let him go. If it's meant to be, it will keep til you're both of age to make your own decisions.
