    Ludicrous Class C Assault Charge
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

I recently attended a No Doubt concert in Dallas. A woman in front of me who just sat there while everyone was up and dancing, who had issues with the people next to her the moment she came to her seat, who also gave us the hairy eyeball a few time, and who eventually stood up to address us about something - probably singing too loud. I put my hands gently on each side of her face - it was meant with the utmost compassion - and I suggested she relax and try and enjoy herself. She threw up her hands and stormed off and the next thing I knew I had security tapping my shoulder. I ended up having to give a statement to security and was handed a ticket from Dallas police for class c assault. I have 21 days to enter a plea and I am in such a quandary as to what to do. I guess in accordance to the definition, I am guilty but I am still very hesitant to plead guilty. I am a 52 year old woman who has never had a speck of trouble and quite frankly am dumbstruck that such a gesture came back to bite me so hard. The detective/ police officer that called me a few days later to give a statement said it was like a traffic ticket - just plead guilty and pay the fine. I don't know what to do. Any advise?

    Get an attorney.

You are far too old to learn a lesson about keeping your hands to yourself, but I will try anyway.

You do not have the right to place your hands on anyone else. Period. Ever. Even if.
