Naturalization and Shoplifting with No Charges Pressed
I am a Security Officer and about to file a N-400 form for naturalization and two weeks ago I got cought shoplifting in big department store. I sholdn't be so stupid, I know... No police was involved, no charges were pressed, but I have to pay civil demand, which I intend to. I'd like to know if this incident or civil demand fine is gonna show up in my background check or FBI check or if it is gonna be posted somewhere. I am worried that i might not only loose my job but also have complications with getting my citizenship. I know it is moral turpitude, should I even mention it in my application?

If there was no involvement by the police or courts, there's no arrest, criminal charge or conviction to report to the USCIS.

I am just curious how deep the INS background check is. Does anybody know if they check National Retail Theft Database?
