Anti-Baby Contract

is this even remotely legal?

i dont know anything about verbal contracts or written ones for that matter, so im just going to throw this one out there.

is there any kind of document that could protect from an accident? i understand that verbally this is probably completely out of the question but if a woman says "if anything happens ill get an abortion",on hundreds of occasions, public, private, drunk, sober, with witnesses, during sex etc. is there still nothing holding her to that?

next since that probably wont get me anywhere, if it is in writing and the "if anything happens" part is defined as failure or malfunction of birth control or something like that could that stand up in any court?

There's only one thing you can do to prevent being responsible for raising a child in the event of an "accident" - practice abstinence.

Trojan is your friend, pal. So is sobriety - if you're too drunk to put on a condom, you're too drunk for sex. You're the only one who can take responsibility for you, so do it.

And no, you CAN'T force her to have an abortion, even if she said she would. Not even if you get it in writing. Bodily autonomy, and all that.

I have always wondered why all of the choices are given to the mother, while all of the financial obligations are placed upon the man.

The woman decides to have the child or not, regardless of the man's wishes.
The woman usually gets to keep the child, even over the man's objections.
The man pays the bills, even though two people made the child.
Then hears from the woman: "You are not taking MY child."

Did you know that studies show that the CUSTODIAL PARENT spends MUCH more on the child(ren) than the NCP does since the NCP is ONLY required to pay the court ordered child support...

At least in my case, I'd be more than happy to do nothing more than visit every other weekend, one night during the week and give someone a check and have to be bothered at any other time during the day or night if I didn't want to be. :rolleyes:

At this point, no. But the Matthew Duvay case a few years ago called attention to the inequality of reproductive liberty between men and women. Unfortunately, many young men tend to overstate the case, and lose credibility. But the simple fact is, women have more and better birth control options than men. And if unplanned pregnancy happens, they have the option to accept or avoid the consequences of parenthood. Men have fewer and poorer birth control options available to them than do women. And if unplanned pregnancy happens, the question of whether or not they become a parent lies in the hands of another person.

It's unequal, and it's easily remediable by giving men the same choice that women have to opt out of involuntarily becoming a parent once they're accused of being the father of a child. It would benefit even children, because nobody would become a parent who didn't choose to be a parent. That would in turn diminish parental stress, which would in turn diminish stresses on children themselves.

Sexual intimacy is a gift of human life. We don't ask women to engage in sexual intimacy only at the risk of becoming parents against their will. We shouldn't ask the same of men. Equal reproductive rights for men. Roe v. Wade for men now!
