Possession in Florida

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Florida, Levy County

About a month ago I was pulled over and arrested. I am being charged with:
1. Possession of less than 20 g Marijuana while in moving vehicle
2. Paraphenalia ; apparently plastic ziplock bags count
3. Possession of a dangerous substance ; misdemeaner for pills
4. Possession of a class IV substance ; felony for Xanax

I am already doing drug testing, Narcotics anonymous, and meeting regularly with a psychiatrist. I'm a good college kid, 20 years old, who got a bit too reckless and cavalier and I am curious to know if I do everything right if I will be able to have charges dropped. If so, how long should the process take?

Also if is expungement a viable option? If so, how long should it take? I am willing to spend whatever money necessary to get a good lawyer. I just need to get my life back on track and get myself into professional school.

You should be focusing at this point on trying to avoid a conviction, not on the future possibility of expunging a conviction, and should be working with a criminal defense lawyer to try to make that happen.

That is my goal, to avoid the conviction. That's what I meant when I said getting my charges dropped. I now have a criminal lawyer and he said with all the preparation I'm doing (with NA, drug testing, etc) I should be better off than most. Nevertheless I am still worried. A felony is a scary thing.

Try to atleast get the felony reduced to a misdeamanor.

I'm very confident the charges will be at least dropped to a misdemeaner. Being a first time offender and doing so many things proactively before going to court should help my case. I am hoping that I can opt for a drug treatment program or the like and have the charges dropped. I know that it happens sometimes in Florida for cases similar to mine. I just have to hope for the best.
