What Happens If I Run Away
I live in North Carolina and I'm fourteen years old.
I'm more mature than you're average fourteen year old. I know everyone says that but I really am. I'd list and explain why but I don't have to explain myself to you. I've been through more than a fourty year probably has. My life's pretty effed up.
I'd like to run away and I'm fully aware that if I run away I'd end up being a fugitive. So I couldn't be able to stay with anyone because they'd be holding a fugitive. And that wouldn't fly over too hot.
How old do you have to be for you to not be a fugitive and still run away?
I think it'd be better if I just didn't live here anymore. And there's no way my 'rents would sign for emancipation once I'm sixteen.
I don't even know if I can even last that long, they make me just want to slit my throat. Litterally; they make me want to kill myself so bad. They're the main reason I want to die.
I may sound like a brat, but you have no idea.:wallbang:
Re: What Happens If I Run Away
The age you can run away from home legally in North Carolina is 18.
If there is a problem going on in your home that you feel you either must run away or harm yourself, please speak to an adult that you trust, outside of your family.

...do not jive. Mature people don't threaten suicide/wish for death on public forums on the internet.
I suggest you make an appointment with your school's guidance counselor, your pastor/priest/rabbi/ghodi/shaman/high priestess/whoever, or look up the teen crisis services in your area.
If you're being abused, if you feel you're endangered, call CPS.

What happens if you run away?
Well, at 14, what happens is the police look for you and they bring you back home. And if you run away often enough, you get thrown in juvie or a group home. And trust me, sweetie, you'll like that a whole lot less.
Re: What Happens If I Run Away
You need to contact Child Protective Services. You need to seek counseling. Trust me there is no good reason to take your own life. There is help out there, please seek it.
