Help with Emancipation

Hi, my name is Amber. I live in Council Bluffs, Iowa. I badly need to get out of my home. I struggle everyday with extreme family issues and the mental abuse I endure is getting out of control. I am a very good student at the school I attend. I am currently holding a 3.8 GPA and am in TAG and Honors classes. I have a family that would not mind taking me in. If possible though I would like to be emancipated. I believe that I would be able to take care of myself. I have always been a very indepentant person. I was wondering what I would need to do to become emancipated or at the least out of my house.

Iowa has no emancipation statute. Perhaps a local lawyer or guidance counselor at school can help you understand what other options may be available.
