Re: Emancipation Paperwork
I recommend starting by reading the sticky at the top of the forum.
Moving in with someone else's parents is really not going to work.
Lastly, if you have forgotten to mention that your "friend" is also your boy/girlfriend, you have a tissue's chance in a blast furnace.
Re: Emancipation Paperwork
If your parents give you permission to move in with friends you may do so until they say you cannot.
In Maryland to become emancipated is either thru marriage or active duty.

Re: Emancipation Paperwork
It is not a girlfriend. literally I am renting a room to live in which is at my friends parents house where my friend also lives by paying rent. Also I need to get emancipated because if not they can still take my wages and I need that money in order to pay for rent.
Re: Emancipation Paperwork
1 There is no emancipation statute in MD, unless you get married or join the military.
2 If there were, you still need to be self supporting. That means all you, not being subsidized by living with someone else, even if they DO charge rent. (Unless that rent is comparable to other similar rental properties in the area)
3 A part time job at a grocery store is not going to pay enough for you to support yourself. Supporting yourself means food, clothing, shelter, health care, and all other necessities of life. Not only that, but you must also show that you are better off without parental supervision and protection.
4 Did I mention that there is no emancipation statute in MD, unless you get married or join the military?
The answer here is NO. You will be emancipated when you turn 18.
