Re: Emancipation in Colorado
There is no statutory provision in the state of Colorado for the emancipation of a minor.
That means there is no mechanism by which you may petition the court for emancipation.
Even if there were, it's highly unlikely that your petition would be heard before you turn 18.

And, "I want to live at school instead of at home" is not a valid reason for emancipation. Particularly if your parents are the ones paying your room and board.

I don't believe I said that. Also, I am paying for my own room and board, thanks. It really doesn't help to put words in my mouth, or to assume that I am unable to pay my own rent.
Oh, and to clarify, my parents are splitting up. My mom is leaving on Tuesday. I don't know who I am supposed to go with yet, but I want to be emancipated because I have my own place to live (the University Apartment) and I would rather not be forced to move yet again, the fourth time in the past month, when I am perfectly capable of supporting myself.
Re: Emancipation in Colorado
I know you didn't say one way or the other. I just mentioned it in case it was applicable.
But since there is no emancipation statute in CO anyway, it's a moot point.
