14, Charged with Petty Theft and Pipe Posession

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
My question involves criminal law for the state of:California

i am a 14 year old girl,this is my first offence ever.i was caught shoplifting with my friends at nordstroms,it was the first time i ever shoplifted in my life.all together i stole 96 dollars worth,a jacket and sweater.nevertheless when the L.A.P.D came they found two pipes,2 packs of cigarettes and a few lighters in my purse. they booked me,which means i have a criminal record now till im 18.the cop was a real asshole,almost inhuman. i was handcuffed for 10 and a half hours.so what will most likely happen to me if i was charged with petty theft and 484(a) PC ???

also,what does 484(a)PC stand for? they took one of my pipes that had weed reisin in it,so is it for that,or the cigarettes?

one last thing,it is CRUCIAL that i change my courtdate because i am supposed to be in Europe and my parents will be working over there,and have contracts,my brothers wife is having a baby etc. i am meant to leave middle june,but my courtdate is early july,is there any way i can change it???? PLEASE?

484(a)PC is for the petty theft charge.

For the paraphernalia with resin, you're looking at a misdemeanor charge and $100 fine.

With respect to getting your court date changed, your attorney can certainly ask, but there is no guarantee.

If you haven't already clued your parents in, you should do so now, and have them help you with getting an attorney.

but if the paraphenelia is not written down on my prisoners receipt,the pink page,does it mean that im not charged with it or...?

I have no idea on the paraphenelia charge....I would think that could come later.

As for Europe....you should have worried about that before you stole. As you are involved in a criminal or juvenile case, you may not be allowed to leave the state, let alone the country, without permission.

I'd have your parents get you a lawyer. Aside from having legal representation, that will also speed up the process (take care of everything in one day).

And please....you are very young. Please change your life around. You don't need to smoke pot, cigs, or shoplift. You could have a very bright future ahead of you.

he was being NICE to you

as of your age, they would always scare the crap out of you first and make sure you never ever do it again. and there is an certain extend they can go..
