Got Caught Shoplifting but Never Had Anything Court Today

My question involves criminal law for the state of: arizona
i didn't got cought shoplifting but turn myself in almost they call the cop fingerprint n everything the guy that with me got cought but he got out the next day and case got dismiss help wat about me can it be dismiss plus im the master mine behinded

i was charge with nothing on me or on video but the guy with me was caught they took him in but didn't took me until 10min later in that time i already left the store but came back admitting it was i dumb or what i am really dumb

for me was i went in and purchase the item it was 195.00 total i purchase it then went out then the guy with me suppose to take another item that is the same one i purchase. he didn't do it so i told him go back inside and take the item i walk him out he was pushing the kart out i just walk out normal then the security got him took him in but didn't took me so i went and drop the item off somewhere then came back inside the store and turn myself in and told them everything that i didn't on video never saw me took anything out and i just wondering y does the guy with me spend couple hour in jail and his case got dismiss but mine is not i didn't admit guilty today at court so they give me a court date of june 10 2009 anyone out there can help me out of this i didn't even shoplift anything

If nothing else, you are an accessory. In some states, that is charged the same as the main party to the crime.

and you admit right here on the forum you were assisting the guy steal.

If you write and spell like that, you absolutely cannot be a "master mine". Take what you've written to your teacher and have him/her correct it before resubmitting it.

how come his case got dismiss and mine is not i want too know y what he say to them when he was in jail plus i don't really know the guy anyway cant i just blame it all on him he doesn't know my name or anything can i deny it

I wish you could type better, use punctuation, etc., so everything would be easier to understand.

As I am understanding it:
(1) You paid for your item.
(2) He did not pay for his.

What I can't understand from your poor typing:
Was he supposed to steal the item?
Was he supposed to purchase an identical item, but instead stole it?

Then you took the item after he was detained, and dropped it somewhere?

Then you came back into the store and turned yourself in?



Ok: If you took the item that was not paid for out of the store - yes, you stole it. If you took the item, hid it, then turned yourself in, yes, you admitted to a crime.

Not to sound cruel: But either way, please get yourself (1) a criminal defense attorney, and (2) into some English/Grammar classes.

i took out the purchase item
the guy with me took out the stolen item
i hid the purchase item
they did not took me in the security room only the guy with me
then 15 min later i saw them look for me so i went back in the store
that when i went in the security room and charge me with shoplifting

Why did you hide the purchased item?

Did you know your friend was stealing?

After you came back in, you admit to knowing he was stealing, or helping him steal?

You should get a Criminal Defense Attorney. If your primary language is not English, ask for a translator, so the lawyer will be better able to assist you.

This "master mine" came up with this foolproof plan:

1. he would buy an expensive item
2. give receipt for item to friend
3. friend would walk out with unpaid for item, but be able to produce a receipt, thus proving he wasn't stealing.

Yes, op, you are just as culpable (if not more so) than your friend.

normally they wont press any charge unless they have enough evidence to convict you
the only way out of this, is that only if you are really innocent, or you didnt admit anything in the room nor they have proof. OR you are young.... diversion programs might avoid criminal records for you....

More than likely not, you are probably going to be charged along with your friend.
