Credit Cards from Middle East
My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Texas.
I am a US citizen and lived in Middle East for a couple of years where I got a Credit Card from a bank there. After a year or so of using and paying my card on time, I found out that there are charges that I did not make. I stopped paying and my assignment was completed so I returned to US. A Law firm out of Maryland contacted me and is trying to collect the disputed debt. Does the credit card company or the bank that issued the card has any jurisdiction to come after me legally here in US? They never investigated the fraud and only wanted me to pay it which I refused.

It's possible for them to sue you in the United States; whether or not they'll actually sue, I can't tell you; it likely depends on how much you owe.
