    Emancipation by Notarial Act Louisiana
My question involves emancipation laws for the State of: Louisiana

Am I understanding correctly that all I have to do to emancipate my 16 year old daughter is to sign the paper in front a notary and 2 witnesses?
Then what steps have to be taken? Does a judge have to approve it?

Does your 16 year old daughter have a place to live and the means to support herself while still going to school? And I mean COMPLETE self-support?

If not, then an attempt at emancipating her by any means could be seen as child neglect.

She is graduating from Job Corps in a couple of weeks and has a job and apartment waiting on her. She will also be 17 in just a few months.

She is the most responsible 16 year old I have ever seen. She has gotten through high school and obtained job training AND a job by the age of 16.

Our reason for doing this is because I travel for work and she wants to be able to obtain medical treatment (dental actually) without me HAVING to be present every time.

Trust me, I will never be far from her, even when she is 40 years old :D
