Immediately Let Go After Giving Two Weeks Notice
so i am based in CALIFORNIA..

i got into a fight with my boss today and told her that i will be giving my 2 weeks notice.. later on the day, i handed her a formal resignation letter effective date: may 29, 2009...

but she said she doesnt need me to come back to work anymore.

    so my question is:
am i supposed to get paid for that severance period between now until may 29 because i told her i was willing to work until this date and she wont let me go back to work?

    pls SOMEONE answer me FAST!!!

i have to ask them tomorrow :(

There is no state requirement for severance pay.

Unless you have a contract stating otherwise, your dealings with them are done. (which might be a good thing!!!)

If today is the last day you work, today is the last day for which you have to be paid, unless you have a legally binding contract that specifically says otherwise.
