Diversion Program
I am very willing to know about the diversion program in MN. I have heard that first offender (misdemeanor case) are given a chance for diversion program with no severe punishment and plenty of community service but however, no criminal record. Is that right? What are some of the ways you can get into a diversion program?? PLEASE >>> NEED SOME ADVICE
Also, I was provided with city attorneys phone number in the summons (ticket) that I was given by the officer and I was wondering why he provided me that number. Does anyone have any idea about this? What would a city attorney do in a misdemeanor? PLEASE SOME SERIOUS ADVICE PLEASE

Re: Diversion Program
A local criminal defense lawyer can advise you about the availability of diversion programs in your county, and whether you qualify.
The city attorney is the prosecutor.

Re: Diversion Program
Even with a diversion program, you still have to pay court fees, probably attorney fees, stay "clean" for 6-12 months, etc.
