Simple Assault, Harassment and Disorderly Conduct
My question involves criminal law for the state of: PA
Last night my Girlfriend and I got into a fight, the Police were called and we both ended up getting charged with:
Simple Assault, Harassment, and Disorderly Conduct.
We were both arraigned via video conference then
We were released on a non-monetary bond with the conditions of, No direct or indirect contact, report for processing within 48 hours, and refrain from where we are staying at without police escort.
My question is where do I go from here, what am I looking at? Since we are both being charged with the same thing, are we able to drop charges? How often do people actually serve time for this? What are my possibly fines?
I have a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Thank you
Re: Simple Assault, Harassment and Disorderly Conduct
You will consult a criminal defense lawyer about the charge, and you will discuss with your lawyer the chances of getting the charges dropped based upon the full facts of the incident. Tomorrow would be a good time to meet with a lawyer.
Re: Simple Assault, Harassment and Disorderly Conduct
From experience, it is going to be hard for a jury to convict either of you if you both were arrested. It will turn into a he said, she said thing and impossible to get to the truth. A jury shouldnt convict the party which as using self defense, but how can anyone know without being there? Good luck
