Michigan DWLS
I was pulled over yesterday and given a ticket for driving with a suspended license. I am simply wondering if it is worthwhile to obtain an attorney for this matter (finances are tight). Also, what sort of penalty might I expect. A little background on my record:
-I was convicted of OWI two years ago (I've been off of probation for well over a year)
-The suspension was related to not being able to pay my Driver Responsibility fee for this past year
-I went to the Secretary of State today and paid all prior debts, and also got my license reinstated (although, I'm sure that won't last long now)
Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Re: Michigan DWLS
Even if you cannot afford to hire an attorney, it would be in YOUR best interest to at least consult one.
You paid all your prior debts for the previous charges, but the main fact is that you were cited for driving while suspended. A judge could take your actions as a pattern and deny you your license.
Consult an attorney; money (if any) well spent.
