What can you do to get emancipated
I'm 17, and pregnant. I live in Wisconsin, we dont have emacipation here. But I have been told by the Assistant DA that I can just tell my parents that if they dont want me around anymore I can say fine, then I'm moving out, and move out. But I have some holdbacks with this. I've also been told that if my parents do call me in as a run away, there not going to look for me too hard, owing to the fact that I'm close to having my baby(which emancipates me here) and close to being 18. My quesiton is, is that true? Has anyone delt with that before? I dont want to move where I feel safe, and then end up draged back to where I cant sleep or eat, for fear, I cant take the stress anymore. HELP!

In many jurisdictions the police and courts don't work very hard to return a minor to a home against her wishes when she's almost 18. I don't know local policies where you live.

Yea, actuly, the D.A here does state that once I have my child I am emacipated, and I dont kow about the local police here either, which is why I asked one of my friends to talk to her dad. He retired in August.

If the D.A. can cite actual legal authority for that, it would be interesting to hear. Obviously it would be catastrophic in many cases for childbirth to result in automatic emancipation, and I am not aware of any legal authority in any state which would grant such automatic emancipation.
