Sidedwiped - Is It My Fault
This accident took place in Tn

Thursday I was driving around a curve when I met another vehicle on the outside of the curve. That vehicle was over to far into my lane and sideswiped my vehicle resulting in frame damage. The cops were called and there was an accident report. However the kid that hit my car had moved his car before the cops got there. The cops didnt fault anyone on the scene but did give the kid in the other car some tickets for invalid registration.
Today I picked up my copy of the accident report and it is totally inaccurate. It lists my car as being vehicle 1 and al of my information but it states the wrong insurance info. Then on the back when it comes to the illistration is lists my vehicle (1) as striking vehicle 2 in the side. That is not true at all. I talked to the officer about correcting this and he refused! The report makes it look like it was my fault! I dont know what to do here because I only have liability insurance and I am not paying for an accident that is not my fault!

What does " I was driving around a curve when I met another vehicle" mean? The vehicle was ahead of you, you approached it from the rear and started to pass on the curve when the accident occurred?

His vehicle #1 one is heading in one direction. Vehicle #2 was in the other lane coming towards him. Vehicle #2 crossed the center line in the curve coming into vehicle #1's lane. At that time Vehicle #2 hit Vehicle #1 on the driverside of vehicle #1.

That is what I got from the Op posting. As he wrote it. He was side swiped or clipped. He did not rear end the vehicle in front of him.

To the op you can talk to the supervisor of the officer that originally wrote the report. You should be able to get the report corrected.
