Your child lives where you allow him to live.

However, the responsibility for your child's care and maintenance is still yours.

You can, but why would you want to?

If he goes out and gets himself into trouble, you're still responsible for him.

Just so we are clear...

You believe that the best way to stop your son from doing whatever he wants is to let him live unsupervised with his girlfriend?

I am not sure that is the solution I would be pursuing.

What county are you in? Here in Lucas, there are a few programs for "incorrigible" teens that seem to have some success.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Teenagers are hard enough as it is, without them being stubborn asshats.

To help find programs, you can contact the juvenile probation officer in your area. Or contact the Juvenile court in your area.

thank you all for the advice. I do live in lucas county we spoke with the probation dept. today they were very helpful its a shame that the courts did not mention any options the six times we had been there. once again thanks to everyone who replied.

If I could I would take your boy to my work for a day. One day behind bars in a prison. I think would straighten any teenager up.

I do not know the law in your state specifically, but the following generally would apply.

1. The girlfriend would be committing a criminal offense having sex with your son who is under 18.

2. Technically you are responsible for him.

3. Here is a kicker. If he, as a minor, gets her pregnant, you could be held responsible for child support, especially if you permit the affair.

I would suggest looking into going to court with your son and have him granted a legal emancipation, so you are not legally responsible for him.
If he wants to be an adult, make him an adult now.

This might or might not make him think twice.
