Any person under the age of 13 is off limits to anyone of ANY age. Period. A sex crime against a victim 13 years old puts you in FELONY status in Florida.
The tip is: RUN, don't walk away from this 13 year old. At 17, you'll likely be tried as an adult, and you'll be prime pickings if you're sent to prison. They don't call it "the pokey" for nothing.
Then, when you get out, you get the joy of trying to live as a registered felony sex offender. Not easy to work, find a place to live, date anyone with children, get various types of licenses or professional certifications, and it goes downhill from there.
The phrase that wasn't mentioned is something that the police like to refer to as rape. The term statutory rape does not mean that it is less than rape. Rape is rape.
If she is really worth it then you should wait the 5 years (until she is 18) to date her. It's likely that you will have moved on. If not, it's likely that you will be a convicted felon and when you get out you will be a registered sex offender for, possibly, life.
What wasn't mentioned is that you, too, will likely have been raped (it's extremely common in underfunded state prisons and all prisons are underfunded). If you haven't been raped you will likely have "willingly" perform sexual acts for other men for favors (protection, usually); this is sometimes referred to as "gay for pay" and it's really rape because it is performed under duress. An 18 year old just does not have the capability to survive in prison without a support group.
On the upside, you will get 3 square meals a day, your laundry will be done for you, you will have a schedule and routine, you may get the chance to workout regularly, and you will have a new set of friends to live with.
...if "15 will get you 20" then 13 must at least get you 30 years in the slammer.
I consider myself to be liberal and open minded in a lot of ways.A 13 year old and a 17 year old being friends is odd,sleeping with a 13 year old when your 17 is just plain wrong.Run like the other person said. You can be sure the da,cops and community gonna want to find anyway to screw. Then when you get tossed in Jail,your gonna be getting raped.
