Probation Officer Wants Me to Tell Possible Employer I'm on Probation
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Missouri
I was charged with statutory rape and had it knocked down to endangerment of a child. I have not done any jail time because I have a suspended suspension, and was put on probation because I have never had any legal problems before. MY PO says that I should tell my possible employer that I am on probation. Can POs ask of this? And if I have to can an employer not hire due to it?

They can not only ask, they can require it.

Yes. Of course, an employer can decide not to hire you for any reason or no reason at all.

Some states have laws that prohibit employers from discriminating against prospective employers solely due to a criminal past unless they can tie the offense directly to the job. But, that's not to say that the employer won't find some other reason to disqualify you.
Yes, the probation officer can almost certainly require you to make such notification. And if the probation officer is doing his job, he will be checking with the employer periodically to see how you are doing.
